Our hosts Kai Wissmann and Susanne Strub reported live from our studio in Offenburg. Together with guests, experts and the astronomic society of the Ortenau
they explained the phenomenon lunar eclipse and conveyed a lot of interesting information, also by having suspenseful presentations.
Spectators had the possibility to address their questions directly to our experts in the studio. The broadcast was supported by hobby-astronomers, who provided their
own pictures and videos of the eclipse. Hence, we could observe the eclipse from various places of the world.
The broadcast was accompanied with music by the pop-talent Linda Tang. With her warm voice and a lot of soul she catered for goose bump-atmosphere more than once.
The “Magic-man”, who amazed the spectators with his wafting moon, provided the certain “magic”.
For the University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg, it was the first live broadcast that was produced in High-Definition and distributed via HD- and SD-stream on the Internet.
The production had been planned for several months and was then realised with a 40-headed team in the frame of a bachelor thesis. Several thousand spectators from all continents
of the world show the success of EclipseLive2010 and are incentive for future projects.
